Postcards From The Hamptons with Claire Olshan

Postcards From The Hamptons with Claire Olshan

To celebrate our upcoming pop-up in East Hampton, we asked Founder of Drawing Room Creative Studio and longtime East Hampton insider Claire Olshan to share her guide to the places that define summer on the East End.

"I think the beauty of the Hamptons is the ability to tap in and tap out. I've been coming to East Hampton every summer for the past 20 years, and the true harmony here comes from sticking to the 80/20 rule: 80% of the time, immerse yourself in nature, family, and friends. The other 20%, get dressed up and go do something fun!"

Where to stay

I'm an East Hampton girl, through and through, so I'd say The Maidstone and Reform Club.

Where to Eat

East Hampton Grill is always a favorite. The Crow's Nest is perfect with kids. The Pridwin or Duryea's in Orient Point—especially if you're arriving by boat. Tutto il Giorno for a cold brew (it's addictive, in the best way). And Carissa's for pastries.

Where to Shop

E-E Home—everything here is perfect. It's also the only place to buy A La incense, which is life-changing. Galerie Sardine. Suzie Kondi. Love Eats for health food and organic beauty. Violet Grey. The Row—the jewelry selection is an 11/10. And Gubbins for everything you really don’t need, but you kinda need.

What to Do

Moo Moo's or Olaf's in Sag Harbor for ice cream. For live music, the Main Beach Summer Concert Series or The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett.

Inspired by: What to wear to The Hamptons

At ReSee, every one of our vintage pieces comes with a story. This is, in large part, thanks to our unmatched community of consignors.

Though parting with such sartorial treasures may not be easy, the exceptional personal care we put into ensuring that they will go on to live a second (or, sometimes even, a third, fourth, or fifth) life offers a thrill — one rivaled only by that of the besotted shopper who adds them to her wardrobe.
